Software Development Manager

Medici Ventures is looking for a Software Development Manager who will manage a team of software developers in the design, development, and maintenance of business applications. This role will lead in planning, research, development, testing, and deployment of solutions and will be heavily involved in the requirements gathering. Also works with content managers to translate requirements into a simple, effective solution design that contributes towards a simpler, more cost-effective experience.

What You Will Do

  • Lead the planning, research, development, testing, and deployment of enterprise projects

  • Heavy involvement in requirements gathering, development and operation stages of new projects

  • Supervise a small team of software developers

  • Develop and execute product vision, strategy, and business plans

  • Develop metrics with each product to track performance

  • Help employees understand how collaborative tools can address their pain points, save time, and increase productivity

  • Ability to present product vision/strategy to executives and business stakeholders

  • Work with development lead to define product roadmap, prioritization, and backlog

  • Ensure products meet the original requirements and provide reusability across the enterprise as needed

  • Oversee products to ensure company vision/goals are maintained throughout product development and launch 

  • Manage user acceptance testing of any new release and define applicable governance policies

  • Take ownership of product performance and adjust strategy to meet company objectives 

  • Own, communicate, and manage project risks

  • Conduct post-implementation reviews and communicate lessons learned to the team

  • Establish and maintain a network of relationships within the business and IT

  • Perform other duties as required and assigned by manager and upper management.

  • Follow legal policies as directed.

What You Should Have

  • In-depth understanding of online databases, collaborative technologies, and interactive web-based intranet services

  • Strong product management skills

  • Customer Service oriented

  • Strong knowledge of SharePoint and other collaborative tools

  • Proficient in one more languages such as React.js, TypeScript, or Angular.js

  • Strong team leadership skills

  • Knowledge of SharePoint InfoPath and SharePoint Designer

  • Strong information management skills in design information architecture, defining and managing taxonomy

  • Exceptional technical and analytical skills for identifying problems, recommending solutions, and improving processes

  • Excellent written, presentation, and interpersonal skills

  • Holistic approach to problem-solving

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering or a related discipline (or equivalent work experience)

What We Hope You Have

  • Understanding of SharePoint 2013, 2016 and Office 365

  • Understanding of web 2.0 technologies  

  • Understanding of Intranet best practices

  • Experience with InfoPath Designer and SharePoint Designer

  • Experience working with development teams

Physical Requirements:

This position requires you to sit, stand and perform general office functions. You may also be required to lift up to 25 pounds occasionally. Bending, stooping, and reaching are also frequently required.
